What if you were forever stuck in a computer game? When an evil genius named “The Gamemaker” develops a VR game to collect artificial intelligence, three children discover a sinister plan. Together, they try to dismantle the game before it is too late.
For this assignment, we developed the characters for the game MediaMasters and wrote an exciting storyline. Thereafter, we produced five exciting short episodes. MediaMasters is a lifelike media experience for groups seven and eight of primary education in the Netherlands, which they can experience with the help of parents, teachers, and libraries during the Week of Media Literacy. The main objective is to learn how they can deal with media in a critical and fun way.
In 2017, more than 165,000 children took part in the game. It is an interactive experience that can be played by students throughout the week regardless of level, prior knowledge, and background. Essentially, it is storytelling with video for education! It represented a collaboration with mediawijsheid.net (NTR), Kennisnet, Sectorinstituut Public Libraries (SIOB), the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision and ECP) , and the game company Flavour.
