La Trappe Trappist has partnered with the renowned winery Chateau de L’Horte to craft a barrel-aged beer with a cause. A portion of the proceeds from this special collaboration will benefit food banks in the Netherlands and France.
For this production, the Bleck team traveled to the historic French village of Montbrun-des-Corbières. Since 2009, La Trappe has been reviving the tradition of aging its Quadrupel beer in oak barrels, resulting in a unique trappist beer with a balanced flavor and distinctive wood aroma. For this limited edition, oak barrels from Château de L’Horte were chosen. Built in 1755 by the Marquis de Saint Félix, the Château is renowned for its botanical gardens, reflected in its logo.
Owned by Jean Pierre Biard, a French winemaker with over 600 years of family history in viticulture, and Dutch partner Johanna van der Spek, the Château has undergone extensive renovations while preserving its artisanal production process. From handpicked grapes to bottling, every step is managed in-house. Since 2013, the vineyard has been fully organic certified, ensuring a pure and authentic product.
This captivating story celebrates the artistry, tradition, and sustainability behind this exceptional collaboration.
