La Trappe Trappist has been brewed silently since 1884 on the grounds of the Onze Lieve Vrouw van Koningshoeven abbey in Berkel-Enschot, Brabant. The Koningshoeven brewery is therefore one of the few breweries in the world that is allowed to carry the “Authentic Trappist Product” label.
Brewed on the 125th anniversary of the Trappist brewery in 2009, LaTrappe Isid’or is a beer with a story. It is an unfiltered, slightly sweet amber beer with a caramel note. Secondary fermentation takes place within the bottle, and it has a full, soft-bitter, and fruity aftertaste. This label—granted by the International Trappist Association—guarantees the origin of Trappist products according to the following criteria:
• Production takes place within the walls of a Trappist abbey.
• Production occurs under the supervision and responsibility of monks.
• Part of the proceeds go to charities.
It is a pure and honest beer, and you taste that.
Team Bleck produced a unique online commercial about the founder of La Trappe: Brother Isidor. In their vision, the director duo Jörgen van Dongen and Steven Willems combined the history of the brewery with the contemporary culture within the company. They felt honoured to visualise this special story with such a rich history.
